In line with its mission to provide academic training of excellence, anchored in a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and the continuous improvement of pedagogical practices aimed at the holistic development of students, the first edition of the Pedagogical Innovation Award was launched in 2025.

This initiative aims to encourage and recognize outstanding merit in innovative teaching practices carried out by UCP faculty and researchers that contribute significantly to the renewal of teaching and learning methodologies and to the strengthening of higher education’s transformative role.

One of the ex-aequo winning projects was “Implementation of Mini-Tests in Tutorial Sessions: A Strategy for Concept Consolidation in Problem-Based Learning”, developed by the team of Bruno Cardoso, Ana Cachaço, Ana Luísa Silva, Arlindo Ferreira, Carlota Cunha Matos, Inês Milagre, Jader Cruz, and Sofia Menéres.

This project was introduced during the current academic year in the “Growth and Development I” course unit of the Integrated Master’s in Medicine.
