Católica Luz Clinical Academic Centre, Católica Medical School and Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) are proud to announce that Isaura Martins, has been awarded a prestigious international research grant from the Morton Cure Paralysis Fund.
This competitive grant will support groundbreaking research in Isaura Martins Neurotrauma laboratory, focusing on the role of CD9, a protein which her team were the firsts to identify as being induced in the vascular system of the spinal cord following trauma. The project aims to explore how CD9 may contribute to the induction of neuropathic pain in the context of spinal cord injury, a major challenge for patients and clinicians alike.
This recognition highlights the innovative research conducted at Católica Medical School and CIIS and reinforces the institution’s commitment to advancing knowledge in neuroscience and regenerative medicine.
Congratulations, Isaura Martins!
