Dermamatica uses AI to support family doctors in the early detection of skin cancer.
For Sam Izadloo, a medical student at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Católica and founder of Dermamatica , it was the story of a patient whose husband noticed a lesion behind her ear that wouldn’t heal.
“The couple went to their family doctor, but were unsure how to proceed. The delay in referral to a doctor/treatment slowed the process. When the patient finally saw the dermatologist , the lesion had already progressed, and the treatment ended up being much more aggressive “than would have been necessary.”
