SimSchool PreMed | 12th Edition
The SimSchool PreMed course is an intensive and immersive course that takes place at the Hospital da Luz Learning Health simulation center and will allow participants to participate in different experiences in clinical areas.
During these days, they will have the opportunity to practice approaching patients in medical consultations and also in the emergency room in a safe and controlled simulation environment. Participants will be able to acquire basic fundamentals and execute essential techniques for managing these cases and, in critical situations, apply CRM (Crisis Resource Management) principles that will contribute to improving teamwork skills such as communication and leadership.
Throughout this program, students will have different experiences:
- Medical consultation for simulated patients, where the clinical history is taken, interprets exams and has access and records data in the clinical process;
- Training of non-technical skills for teamwork;
- Approaching a victim in cardiorespiratory arrest and resuscitation maneuvers;
- A visit to Hospital da Luz Lisboa;
- Interactive sharing of a doctor’s experience;
- And also a visit to the Católica Medical School with a coaching session, networking and a visit to the different Labs: AnatomyLab, SkillsLab and ResearchLab.
