Nuno Pimenta is a clinical exercise psychologist, currently Dean of the Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior – Santarém Polytechnic University (ESDRM-IPSantarém), where he is a full Adjunct Professor and researcher. Holds a PhD in Human Kinetics, with specialization in Physical Activity and Health, by the Faculty of Human Kinetics – University of Lisbon.
Working in the field of sports sciences, particularly in the assessment and promotion of health-related fitness and health-enhancing physical activity and lifestyles, mainly for the primary and secondary prevention of chronic diseases. Co-PI of the VA|PREVENTION Project (https://www.vaprevention.org), funded by FCT.
Member of the board of the Sociedade Portuguesa para o Estudo da Obesidade (Portuguese Society for the Study of Obesity) and is part of the multidisciplinary Prediabetes Study Group within the Sociedade Portuguesa de Diabetologia (Portuguese Society of Diabetology).
