From April 6th to April 8th, 2026, the SimSchool PreMed – 11th Edition will take place at Hospital da Luz Learning Health e a Católica Medical School, offering an intensive and immersive learning experience designed for students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
Organized by Hospital da Luz Learning Health, this program will be held at the hospital’s simulation center, where participants will engage in realistic clinical scenarios within a safe and controlled environment. Our organization is pleased to support this initiative as a partner of the event, contributing to the promotion of innovative medical education opportunities.
Throughout the three-day course, participants will have the opportunity to explore different aspects of clinical practice while developing both technical and non-technical skills essential for healthcare professionals.
During the program, participants will take part in several practical activities, including:
- Conducting medical consultations with simulated patients, reviewing clinical histories, interpreting diagnostic tests, and recording information in electronic medical records;
- Practicing teamwork and non-technical skills, essential for effective collaboration in healthcare settings;
- Learning how to approach and manage a patient in cardiac arrest, including basic resuscitation maneuvers;
- Applying principles of Crisis Resource Management (CRM) to strengthen leadership, communication, and decision-making in critical situations.
In addition to simulation activities, the course offers participants a broader view of the healthcare and academic environment through:
- A guided visit to Hospital da Luz Lisboa;
- An interactive session with a physician from Hospital da Luz, sharing real-world professional experiences;
- A visit to Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Católica, including a coaching and networking session and access to key facilities such as the AnatomyLab, SkillsLab, and ResearchLab;
